CUE Chief executive officer Mwenda Ntarangwi in a letter to universities dated May 13 said the institutions in their reports should include platforms, learning management systems or any other ways through which they have availed content or learning to students.
The universities are also required to detail the readiness and or capacity of their faculty and students to learn or teach on those platforms, ways and details of any training or capacity building provided if such were deemed necessary.
Prof Ntarangwi further said the universities should detail courses or programmes they have prepared or are offering through such platforms or ways and availability of and access to learning materials to both faculty and students while away from the physical campus.
“Steps universities have taken to assess student learning and how such assessment followed set university guidelines on learning including meeting required contact hours; and measures universities have taken to ensure that quality is maintained in all learning activities they are undertaking,” reads the letter by the CEO.
The Universities are also required to share with the Commission steps taken to establish and results thereof of the number of students able to access the learning being offered while away from the physical campus and any measures taken to assist those that are unable to for various reasons including special learning needs or socioeconomic factors.
