When it comes to the arts at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, all roads lead to John Miller Howard, an African American artist and arts educator. In 1939, Howard founded the art department at Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal College (AM&N), now UAPB, and nothing has been the same since.
