On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a second multi-trillion-dollar stimulus bill, which seeks to provide a new round of economic assistance to Americans displaced by the nation’s pandemic.
The bill passed by the Democratic-led U.S. House is called the HEROES Act (Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions).
The nation’s first multi-trillion-dollar pandemic-related stimulus bill (CARES Act) was signed into law in the last days of March.
Though Republicans in the Senate have already voiced their opposition to the HEROES Act, the Republican-led White House under President Donald Trump endorses a portion of the bill.
A White House spokesperson issued a Thursday (May 14) statement to CNBC, which expressed the Trump Administration’s support for passing a second stimulus package at some capacity.
