The Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) opened its 50th franchise location on Thursday at Sewing Artistry Ltd in Princes Town.
TTPost deputy chairman Michael Seales said it will join a limited group of franchises which offer all the corporation’s services.
Seales explained, “The are 50 TTPost franchises spread throughout TTin two groups that complement the 13 corporate shops which are operated directly by TTPost.
“Sewing Artistry Ltd belongs to a group of 20 which provides a full suite of TTPost services.
"However, there is another group of 30 whose responsibility is limited to the distribution of mail only.”
In addition to delivering mail and selling stamps, the new location will also handle domestic and international couriers and oversee the delivery of passports, visas, online shopping goods and social welfare cheques.
Seales said Sewing Artistry’s staff were trained to provide all these services.
He added, “We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship between Sewing Artistry Ltd and the TT Postal Corporation.
“Franchises have become very important to TTPost and accounted for five per cent of the corporation’s business in 2021, with revenue increasing by 34 per cent over the prior year.”
Sewing Artistry owner Sangita Sinanan said she looks forward to serving Princes Town residents. Elated to be part of TTPost, she said it had been a wonderful experience working with the corporation thus far.
“I can firmly say that they (at TTPost) have all been tremendous and have assisted every way possible.
“I am looking forward to a continued successful partnership with TTPost and everything that would entail.”
