THE Trinidad and Tobago Under-15 cricketers ended the West Indies Rising Stars tournament with a perfect record after defeating Leeward Islands in the final round on Wednesday.
TT ended with five wins in as many matches after getting past Leeward Islands by six wickets at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua. TT sealed the title after winning their fourth round match on Monday.
Leeward Islands were all out for 162 in 48 overs batting first with Matthew Miller scoring 53 and Tanez Francis hitting 27. TT spinners Brendan Boodoo and Yasir Deen continued their impressive showing in the tournament grabbing 3/9 (eight overs) and 3/34 (ten overs) respectively.
In reply, Christian Lall led the way for TT lashing six fours and two sixes in his innings of 52 off 55 balls, Christiano Ramnanan made 28 and Zane Maraj ended on 28 not out. Bowling for Leeward Islands, Kunal Tilokani snatched 2/45.
In other matches, Windward Islands defeated Jamaica by four wickets and Guyana got past Barbados by seven wickets.
