Trinidad and Tobago’s men and women’s Under-19 volleyball teams contest their respective semi-final ties of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association’s (CAZOVA) U19 Championships in Jamaica on August 2.
The men begin their quest for a spot in the final from 2pm (TT time) against the US Virgin Islands. The other men’s semi sees Barbados up against Aruba.
From 3pm, the TT women face Barbados in their semi-final while Jamaica play USVI in the other.
In their respective quarter-final ties, the men’s U19 team fought hard to get past Barbados and notched their first win over the tournament’s two-time winners at the GC Foster College court in Spanish Town on July 31.
TT defeated their Bajan counterparts 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 25-22.
Additionally on August 1, the women’s team also sealed a semi-final spot by defeating Curacao in straight sets.
The Calypso Spikers won 25-19, 25-22, 22-12.
