THE EDITOR: After nine horrendous years in office, I take no comfort and have lost all hope that this prime minister and those people who he leads will ever live up to our expectations, especially when it comes to fighting crime and criminality.
Moreso, every single one of them who campaigned and crowed that they had all the solutions to the crime problem, and who roundly castigated the previous administration's effort when holistic solutions of sport, training, welfare and opportunities were tried, should immediately give up office.
We are in such a terrible state that no one wanted to hear the prime minister's "Full brunt of the law" trite in the wake of 15 murders over the last weekend. We all know this is tired, useless rhetoric. We all know his cry was almost comical in its woefully pathetic and desperate admission of failure.
The fact is, under this government's watch, no one is safe anymore, anywhere. In every community there are tales of robbery, home-invasion, murders. There is fear, concern and trepidation.
At the moment and continuing (by all of the signs) there is not a shred of law and order in TT. This runs from littering, all the way to murder, to corruption, to public scandals.
Honorable prime minister, your failed governance and lame leadership over the past nine years, have brought this nation to the brink of ruin.
