President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the judgement by the Supreme Court of which affirmed the spirit, intent, and purpose of the Constitution of the country on the statutory rights of local governments. On Thursday, the Supreme Court declared as unconstitutional for state governors to withhold funds meant for local government administrations. According to Justice Emmanuel Agim, local government allocations from the Federal Account should henceforth be paid directly to the local government.
