Bryan, who was booked into the Glynn County Jail on Wednesday, was the man who recorded the video of Ahmaud Arbery’s killing.
Despite his repeated denials of involvement, Bryan was reportedly initially named in the police report for allegedly trying to block Arbery during the chase.
Lawyers for Bryan had asked Arbery’s legal team to stop mentioning him as part of the murder, but it was later revealed by the McMichael’s that Bryan not only took part in the chase but at one point, blocked off Arbery.
The legal team for the family of Ahmaud Arbery had called for the arrest of Bryan from the beginning.
“We are going to continue to push for the arrest of William Bryan for recording and participating in the ambush of Ahmaud Arbery,” S. Lee Merritt, one of the attorneys for Arbery’s family, told CNN’s Don Lemon.
