Born April 10, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds is a 10-time Grammy Award winner and one of the most prolific artists, composers and producers in music history. Beginning his career as a member of the group The Deele, he was nicknamed Babyface by famed bass player Bootsy Collins.

Edmonds launched LaFace Records in 1989 with his composing/producing partner LA Reid, and they developed the careers of several stars including Usher, Toni Braxton, TLC, Outkast, Ciara, and Pink. He has created over 125 Top-10 R&B hits (over 40 number one songs) which have produced single and album sales in excess of 500 million units worldwide. His list of writing and producing credits is a whos who of music including Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Beyonce, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, The Jacksons, Boyz II Men, Bobby Brown, and many more..

His numerous honors including Soul Train Legend and Entertainer of the Year, NAACP Image Awards Entertainer of the Year, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame, and being inducted into the BET Walk of Fame.

Babyface composed and produced the all-star Waiting to Exhale soundtrack which was released November 14, 1995. The album featured Whitney Houston (who starred in the film), Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, Brandy, and more outstanding female artists. The album received eleven Grammy nominations including Album of the Year and sold over seven million copies. It remained at number one on the Billboard 200 for five weeks, and topped the R&B chart for ten weeks. In addition to writing and producing the soundtrack, Babyface also scored the film.
