TEAM Elite Karate captured 64 medals (28 gold, 22 silver and 14 bronze) at the Goshindo Karate Championship at Woodbrook Youth Facility, Port of Spain, on July 16.
Chelsea Winter led the haul by copping three gold - two in the girls' 16-17 kata and kumite and one in the women kata division.
The youngster's participation in the women's event was used as a warm up ahead of her debut at the tenth Commonwealth Karate Championship in Birmingham, UK in August.
Chelsea's brother Christian won double-gold after topping the boys' 14-15 kata and kumite. He will also represent TT at the Commonwealth Karate Championship.
Megan Chow (girls' five years and under) and Kristiano Lacario (boys' 8-9) also won two gold in their respective kata and kumite categories.
At the Goshindo tourney, Sangre Grande-based Team Elite was represented by 36 athletes ranging from age five to 18 and over.
Altogether, there were 113 participating athletes from USA, Curacao, Bonaire, Venezuela, Honduras and TT.
