He said the government is committed to ensuring there is continuous education despite the challenges the country is facing during the pandemic.

TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia has said the commission sought to recruit 1,591 teachers in primary schools and 529 others in secondary schools.
According to TSC’s 2019-2023 strategic plan, the government plans to be recruit at least 12,000 teachers annually in to curb the increasing teacher shortage in public schools.
By 2023, the teacher shortage is projected at 61,671 for secondary and 34,941 for primary schools.
