The Sports Company of TT (SporTT) hands over the Marac Recreation Ground to the Princes Town Regional Corporation on Saturday, at 11am, following infrastructural upgrades and refurbishment.
Marac’s facility is SporTT’s latest completed project as part of its suite of community grounds which they are mandated to provide oversight and project management on.
A SporTT statement on Friday said among the new amenities are design and construction of a new pavilion, washroom block, jogging track and cricket nets, external drainage and a basketball court upgrade.
Minister of Sport and Community Development Shamfa Cudjoe MP for Moruga/Tableland Michelle Benjamin PTRC chairman Gowrie Roopnarine are expected to attend the handing over ceremony.
There will also be presentation of cricket and football gear and equipment to selected athletes and/or clubs in the community. After the opening, a T10 match between two local teams - Trench Town Sports Club and the President's Associates – bowls off.
