A well-known Scarborough vendor was shot and killed in the car park of the Port Mall, Tobago, early on Wednesday.
The man, who has been identified so far only by his alias, “Bling Bling,” is the island’s eighth murder victim for the year so far.
Onlookers said the man sold fruits, clothes and other items outside the old post office on Milford Road.
The murder comes less than a week after head of the police Tobago Division ACP Collis Hazel complained about the levels of murders and other violent crime on the island.
During a stakeholders’ meeting last Thursday at Scarborough Library, Hazel said many unregistered vehicles were entering Tobago on the ferries and being used to commit murders.
