[JusticeInfo.net] Using the principle of universal jurisdiction, a French court on December 16 sentenced Rwandan Claude Muhayimana to 14 years in jail for complicity in genocide. Muhayimana was accused of having, in 1994, transported Hutu militiamen to the hills of western Rwanda to massacre Tutsis. The defence, which has appealed, claims he was just a "simple driver," but civil parties say this trial was as important as any other.
