The inaugural Robert Ballack Memorial Charity Golf Tournament takes place at the Pointe-a-Pierre golf club on Sunday from 10 am.
Thirty-five two-member teams have already registered. The victorious team wins a trip to Barbados to compete in the Barbados Open Golf Tournament, from September 16-18.
Although the tournament was fully organised by members of Ballack’s family, all proceeds from registration will go to the Cancer Society of TT. Ballack, 68, passed away in 2021 after succumbing to cancer.

Ballack was an avid golfer for the past ten years with the Pointe-a-Pierre gold club and several of his long-time friends and golfing partners will feature at the debut event.
“We decided to host this memorial tournament because it’s for a cause very dear to us,” said Maritza Ballack, Robert’s daughter and tournament organiser.
