Trainer Eddie Belle said he was confident in Rising Star and the five-year-old horse did not disappoint, making it two wins in a row as he galloped away from his other three rivals in the BTC Directors’ Handicap at the Garrison Savannah on Saturday. He now looks to be the star attraction among the top-rated horses. On a gloomy day with heavy rain fall just before the feature race, the Richard Deane-trained Terrain broke quickly to the lead and was joined by Trini Aviator who took the lead away coming down the stands for the first time. 2019 Sandy Lane Gold Cup winner Celestial Storm was tracking in third and Terrain’s stablemate Zagan was tucked in in fourth and Rising Star last of the quintet in the early stages.Trini Aviator who had defeated Terrian last race day went the first 1 1/4 in a slow 25.0 on the soft turf and the 1/2 in 52.4.At the two-furlong marker just like his last win Rising Star circled the track like a whirlwind, showing a terrific turn of speed and leaving his rivals for dead once again. He won by 12 1/4 lengths from second placed Celestial Storm who many fans thought would have eaten this field for lunch in her favourite soft going.
