THE EDITOR: People, all homes must have an emergency communication plan in case disaster strikes. Who to call first.
It should be posted on a wall, very visible to all, near the landline.
I first saw one of these when I visited my aunt at Henry Street, Port of Spain, in the early 1970s.
Here are some suggestions:
* All members of the household must be listed.
* The police, fire and hospital telephone numbers must head the list.
* All family members must store contact info in their cell phones and have a hard copy in their purse or wallet.
* All family members must be able to recite key contact numbers – home, cell, emergency services.
My safety, your safety are our responsibility, people.
