The Nigeria Army has called for closer collaboration with stakeholders in North-East, to contain the menace of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Haruna, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Nigerian Army, stated this during the Counter IEDs awareness seminar, on Friday in Maiduguri. Haruna, who is also the Commander Sector 1, Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), said the exercise was designed to address threats posed by IEDs, which remained the primary weapon employed by the insurgents. He said the exercise was necessary towards reawakening the security consciousness of the people to deny the degraded terrorists
