Police and fire officers were on the scene on Monday morning at Tarouba Link Road near South Park, where a motorcyclist was killed in an accident.
The deceased has been identified as Ezekiel Maharaj of Chatham, Cedros.
Eyewitnesses told Newsday he tried to overtake a truck transporting fuel near the traffic lights, and came into contact with the left side of the truck.
On impact, he pitched into the road, and the bike skated under the left side of the truck.
The fuel tank of his bike was detached and caught fire. The truck driver stopped and put out the fire.
No one else was injured.
