Lessons From Our Afghanistan War Efforts - The New Journal and Guide

Come September 20, I shall celebrate my 81st birthday. As such, I am a 30-year (October 15, 1958 – November 1, 1988), retired, Marine sergeant major, 100 percent disabled, Vietnam combat veteran.

Come September 11, 2021, America will have ended its longest (20 years) active combat engagement. This is reminiscent of three other military confrontations/withdrawals that occurred while I was on active duty: (1) Corporal E-4, Cuban Missile Crisis, October 16-28, 1962 (POTUS John F.
