On April 9, the California Senate Judiciary Committee voted 8-1 to advance Sen. Steven Bradford’s reparation legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 1403, or the “California American Freedman Affairs Agency” bill. The bill, formerly entitled SB 490, moves on to the Committee on Governmental Organization.
