Bryan Scott, former assistant city attorney, is taking over for Brad Jerbic, who was appointed city attorney 28 years ago.
Scott has served as assistant city attorney for more than two decades.
“My mother grew up in rural Texas picking cotton as a child and was educated in a segregated school system,” Scott said, holding up his mother’s high school diploma at the City Council podium.
Goodman said she received an overload of recommendations to appoint Scott as city attorney.
Scott received a standing ovation after he was appointed at today’s City Council meeting.
