Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has suspended personal use of the controversial insignia of the Order of St Michael and St. George.
It resembles the video of the way George Floyd was murdered, under the foot of a white police officer in Minneapolis on May 25 for nearly nine minutes.
In the meantime, the governor-general has sent a letter to the Chancellor of the Order of St. Michael and St. George requesting a revision of the image used on the medal.

The Order of St. Michael and St. George is awarded by the Queen to ambassadors and diplomats for distinguished service.
It is also reminiscent of the recent murder of George Floyd by the white policeman in the same manner presented here in this medal.’
