Newsweek's credibility as of late has been sketchy and understandably so. The once-respected publication has become a breeding ground for far-right nonsense ran an op-ed just hours after Biden's announcement about Senator Kamala Harris claiming that she's not even a United States citizen.
Having been officially sworn in on Dec. 2, new Queens Borough President Donovan Richards got to enjoy some pomp and circumstance with an official inauguration

Influenza vaccines are now available in Guyana as international health authorities continue to urge that vaccinations for the seasonal malady continue during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
Previously, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) had urged that strengthened vaccinations take place in countries in the Americas to prevent flu and measles outbreaks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PAHO had encouraged countries to adopt resourceful solutions to safely continue the vaccinations of at-risk persons during the pandemic.
The continuation of those vaccines is being done in an effort to separate those persons who may have flu or flu-like symptoms and may suspect that they have the novel coronavirus
When Stabroek News contacted Terrence Esseboom, the Ministry of Public Health’s Public Relations Officer, he stated that the influenza vaccine is available in Guyana.
Esseboom informed that anyone who requires the vaccine can visit the Ministry’s offices at Lot 1, Brickdam St, Georgetown.

[ad_1] QuickSilva is known as the “The Party Kingpin,” but that title does not tell the whole story. For 25 years the Baltimore native has consistently delivered an experience to party goers and radio listeners. He’s been named Mix Show Power Summit’s East Coast DJ of The Year, Washington, D.C.’s most popular DJ for six consecutive years, Global Spin Award’s Breakthrough DJ and National Club DJ of the Year, Source magazine’s Power 30 DJs and one of the Top 10 DJs in the country, BET 106 & Park’s guest DJ, and NFL legend Ray Lewis’ personal DJ. Host of the syndicated The QuickSilva Show, heard weekdays 3 PM -7 PM in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Columbus, and worldwide on-air and online, he’s got 1 million listeners. Accolades aside, QuickSilva has consistently taken his listeners on a journey. Whether they were having a great night at a club or listening on the radio, QuickSilva’s goal has been to make people have a good time. Unfortunately for most a good time quickly came to a halt as COVID-19 placed heavy restrictions on the nightlife industry. “These are unprecedented times which have been devastating for bars and clubs, and for those employed in the industry,” says QuickSilva. A staunch entrepreneur, QuickSilva has firsthand experience of COVID-19’s effects as an owner in the nightlife industry and a DJ. Two of QuickSilva’s businesses, Club Downtown Bmore and Quick and Eazy DJ Academy, have both seen an impact from the pandemic. “I’ve been very blessed throughout my life coming from where I’ve come from. By the time I turned 18, I lost both of my parents, got shot, and almost lost my life to tragic accidents. Life will take you through many circumstances but I’ve never allowed my circumstances dictate my future. This pandemic is no different,” he says. “Initially I did not think that this would be as serious as it is, but I quickly realized that I had to two options and that was to fold or adapt. My business manager and I sat down and started to plan out how I was going to stay relevant during this crisis.” There are many DJs that were solely relying on their bar and club nights as their source of income but when stay-at-home orders and restrictions hit, incomes were also impacted. QuickSilva’s message to DJs is, “you have to figure out something that will make you stand out.” It is important to pivot, adjust, and create during these uncertain times that we are experiencing. There is no quick fix. “What you can do is develop a plan to stay relevant, to build and grow your audience, and continue to brand,” says QuickSilva. “In addition you may have to readjust your life to fit your income. Be honest with yourself about your current income during these times and make the tough decisions in order for you to come out with your head above water.” window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({ appId : '348280475330978', autoLogAppEvents : true, xfbml : true, version : 'v3.0' }); var penciCommentCallback = function ( response ) { jQuery.ajax( { type: 'GET', dataType: 'json', url

A group of Capetonians on Wednesday joined a peaceful \"walk-by\" vigil outside Parliament in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter Movement.
While she hosted the event in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter protests currently happening in the United States, Protest As Praxis said the vigil was also for South Africans who had been killed by police and army personnel, especially during the national lockdown.
\"The vigil was to grieve for Collins Khoza and Robyn Montsumi, who died in the Mowbray police station, for the refugees who are not getting aid during the pandemic, and for the people who are being evicted, even though it is illegal to be evicted during this time,\" she told News24.
For one young man, the vigil wasn't about George Floyd, but rather a protest against institutionalised racism.
It is the institution, it is the system and not the people at hand,\" he said.

The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) was formally launched just over a year ago in a blaze of optimism.
It aims to phase out all tariffs on commerce on the continent of 1.2 billion people, a goal that backers say could give trade a mega-jolt as only 15 percent of trade by African nations is with continental neighbours compared to 70 percent with Europe.
\"Everybody can see, objectively, nothing can be done on the 1st of July,\" AfCFTA's brand-new secretary general, Wamkele Mene of South Africa, told AFP.
Then there is the task of figuring out how AfCFTA should dovetail with eight existing regional organisations in Africa, such as ECOWAS and the six-nation East African Community (EAC).
\"The regional economic communities remain, including the customs unions in Africa such as the EAC, ECOWAS and so on,\" said Mene.
Despite the crisis wreaking firms financially, researchers say it presents an opportunity to get their strategies right.
