Carnival band Image Nation will launch its 2024 Carnival presentation Jouvay – the ballet of life on August 1 at their mas camp, 2 Scott Street, St Clair from 1-6 pm.
A media release said is Image Nation is an avant-garde mas or masquerade band, combining imaginative ideas, ecological issues and materials, with art biased, creative costumes, built on a contemporary look at the traditional mas of TT.

Unused denim jackets, skirts, dresses, shirts and pants are collected, recycled and given new life by being made into costumes that also include the use of paper, cardboard, plastic soft drink bottles, packing materials and cable ties, the release said.
Jouvay was designed by Patrick Roberts, a 44 year old veteran of designing and building both adult and children mas, who also holds a bachelor’s degree in Carnival studies.
Jouvay – the ballet of life will feature eight sections: Rebellion, Revolution, Resistance, Renaissance, Reclamation, Rebirth, Rejuvenation and Revelation.
