Lead investigator Sergeant Halton Springer said murder accused Jarviston Glenford Thorne told him he tried to stop the truck he was driving from running over Kadeem Wilfred after he fell in front the vehicle.However, according to Thorne, Wilfred was too close and he ended up driving over him.Sergeant Springer was giving evidence in the No. 2 Supreme Court when Throne’s murder trial continued before Justice Randall Worrell.Thorne, then 46, of Jackson Terrace, St Michael, is accused of murdering Wilfred on December 8, 2015.Under questioning by Deputy Director of Public Prosecution Alliston Seale, Sergeant Springer told the court that in Thorne’s statement, he said he drove behind Wilfred after the now deceased man struck the truck he was driving with rocks, damaging it in the process. He said he wanted to apprehend Wilfred so he could pay for the repairs.
