Grecia Hambelton, one of our outstanding Heartland Christian Academy teachers, has been working hard this school year, along with the eighth graders, to raise funds for their annual class trip to Washington, D.C. They just returned from that trip, where students had opportunity to explore national landmarks such as the Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress. They also immersed themselves in history at sites like the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Museum of American History, and the National Archives Museum, where they viewed the original Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and U.S. Constitution. Their days included visits to numerous memorials, including the Washington, Lincoln, and Vietnam War Memorials.
