WORLD Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer, Mark Henry, is carded to make an appearance at Battle Kingdom at the Woodbrook Youth Facility on July 31.

The former wrestler and Olympic weightlifter, now signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a commentator, analyst, coach and talent scout has been booked to serve as a special guest enforcer at the event.

Battle Kingdom will be hosted by All Caribbean Wrestling (ACW), the premier wrestling promotion in the region, in collaboration with Jtrini5 Enterprises Limited, Andrew Sport and Entertainment (ASEC), and Fighting Evolution Wrestling (FEW).

Henry stated to ACW’s general manager, Akil Samuel, “this event looks fun, (I) would love to be (a) part of it!”.

His role as an enforcer would be to aid as a ringside referee to maintain law and order, in and around the ring.

Jillian Ferguson, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ACW, said, “We are reviving professional wrestling in Trinidad and Tobago, and the Caribbean. Our intention is to bring wholesome family entertainment to all and eventually bring pro-wrestling to the communities and schools as a form of mentorship, social reform and discipline.”

She continued, “Battle Kingdom is the start of stimulating the economy through sports entertainment. We need to invest in our younger society and give them something exciting to pour their attention into than other destructive pastimes.

“The world was knocked off its axis due to the wide spread of covid19. Now that contingencies have been put in place, the idea of reinvigorating professional wrestling in Trinidad and the region will not only renew a past presence that was here before, but will be unique in several ways.”

Henry will be joined by other major guest superstars, namely Elijah “Pope” Burke (WWE/TNA/NWA), The Headbangers (WWE), Red Velvet (AEW), MJ Jenkins (WWE), Evan Bourne – also known as Matt Sydal (WWE/AEW), and JB Cool (TNA/UWA).

The event is scheduled to commence at 3 pm. Patrons can contact ACW via social media for ticket information.
