Flow, pennacool reward SEA students - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

Flow’s manager of marketing Jacinta Pinard-Thompson lauded the impact that the SEA Report Writing Competition has had on pupils and teachers at the prizegiving ceremony of the Flow-sponsored pennacool.com’s competition and Inter-School Championship.

“It’s always very rewarding to see and hear first-hand the positive impact that this programme has on our students and teachers,” Pinard-Thompson said in a media release.

The Flow/pennacool.com partnership has birthed many initiatives that encourage healthy competition among primary schools in TT, the release said. The most recent is the SEA Report Writing Competition which was developed to provide a new, and one of the only forums for online local creative writing. The pennacool/Flow SEA portal is one of the few programmes offering this as the new component was adapted in the condensed SEA curriculum for 2022 language arts syllabus, as narrative writing was replaced with reporting writing, the release said.

This competition received over 1,100 submissions from Standard 4 and 5 pupils across the country. All submissions were graded by an official SEA grader, the release said.

Rizvaan Naqavi, Asia Ali, Kymani Maikoo, Jaydon Beach and Vishala Jagmohan received Flow-sponsored stationery hampers as the winners in the March Report Writing Competition.

Deva Dass Jagdeo of the Chaguanas Government Primary School received the award as the Teacher of the Term and her class was the February Report Writing Class.

Pinard-Thompson said Flow will “continue to endorse our support for pennacool.com, as we see how much they have been able to help young students improve their performance. We are indeed pleased that our teachers continue to use online tools to deliver their lessons to our young students to ensure consistent, uninterrupted learning."
