EVAN Sieunarine is a fearless four-year-old boy who dreams of fighting bad guys.
Evan's bravery and passion for justice fuels him.
He recently became the youngest ever to be graded at the TT Fitness Academy’s Krav Maga class.
Speaking to Newsday Kids at his Trincity home on August 24, Evan said, “I dream about police officers and soldiers and fighting bad guys.”
Evan's main ambition is to be a soldier. That’s what he said he has been training for.
When he's not dreaming of fighting crime or playing with toys, games, and watching TV with his dad he goes on tours around the country to historical sites across Trinidad and sometimes in Tobago.
Evan attends an intense one-hour Krav Maga practice session twice a week.
According to Wikipedia, Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art developed for the Israeli Defence Forces. It is a combination of techniques used in aikido, judo, karate, boxing, and wrestling. According to kravmagacaribbean.com Krav Maga translated from Hebrew into English, as contact combat was initially developed as an unarmed combat system. It has since been adapted to meet the needs of civilians, law enforcement officers and security personnel.

Evan also loves swimming.
He cherishes the moments spent swimming with his parents and enjoys visiting beaches and rivers around the country. Evan recently started school, where he is the youngest student in his class. Reading and writing are among his favourite activities.
Evan's interest in guns, inspired by his father's career in the Ministry of National Security, has sparked conversations among family and friends. However, his father supports Evan's dreams and believes his toys empower him to fight off imaginary bad guys and protect his loved ones.
When Evan is not swimming, riding his bike or scooter, or practising Krav Maga, he enjoys spending time playing games with his relatives and attending church with his parents, where he joyfully sings his favourite song, This Little Light of Mine.
Evan leads an active lifestyle and understands the importance of staying fit. He even monitors his sugar intake, limiting himself to only one scoop of ice cream and would go on walks with his father and hikes with his parents from time to time. He encourages children his age to be brave and not let fear hold them back, using a story about his own fear of swimming to emphasise the point.
His advice to other children; “Don’t be scared. Don’t ever be scared. When my daddy took me swimming, I thought there was a big fish in the water and I hold onto my daddy shoulders.
He admitted he was scared at the time.
But then he realised, “It was like 100 small fishes in the water. When I wear my goggles and see them I wasn’t scared any more and I say ‘Oh my gosh.'”
