Cops seek help to ID body of Spanish man found in La Romaine - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

POLICE are seeking the identity of the body of man of Spanish descent, which was found lying on the M2 Ring Road, La Romaine, on Saturday afternoon.

The body, which bore stab wounds to the face and left upper back, also had a tattoo of the words, “Get rich or die trying” on the left upper arm and another of a praying hand to the left upper back.

Around 12.06 pm on Saturday, an anonymous caller informed the Southern Division Operations Centre of the body. CID officers who were on mobile patrol, responded.

They found the body of the man of light brown complexion, in his early twenties, lying on its back in a bushy and remote area on the eastern side off the dirt road.

Approximately five feet, five inches in height, the man wore a low-cut hairstyle to the side and back of the head, with long and bushy black hair on top of his head.

He was bare backed, wearing only a black three-quarter pants.

Officers also observed piece of a concrete block with a bent piece of a quarter inch steel attached to it, lying close to his body.

The body was viewed by DMO Dr Melissa Bachan who ordered its removal to the mortuary of the San Fernando General Hospital, pending a postmortem at the Forensic Centre, Port of Spain.

Crime scene investigators as well as officers from the Homicide Bureau processed the scene and retrieved one white T-Shirt, a white tie strap, a pair of black slippers, along with the concrete block with the steel attached.
