There was a dramatic mid-morning scene in the capital on August 15, as armed men sped through the city after stealing a grey Frontier van, only to be intercepted by police.

As the thieves made their way across Park Street, they were followed by a black unmarked police car. At the Henry Street intersection, another group of police pulled in front of the stolen vehicle.

When Newsday arrived  around 10.15 am, scores of police and civilians were gathered at the corner.

Police blocked traffic from entering Henry Street, from Duke Street to the Park and Henry intersection.
