Press Release - While eastern DRC is facing an upsurge of child rights abuses, MONUSCO's Child Protection Section organised a capacity building workshop for protection focal points, whistleblowers and members of the Joint Technical Working Group on Protection and Armed Conflict (JTWG) on 25 and 26 April 20203 on monitoring and reporting mechanisms for grave child rights violations. This was done with the aim of curbing the recruitment of children by armed groups.
