Trinidad and Tobago women's cyclist Teniel Campbell is anticipating spending time with family and getting rest after becoming the first woman from TT to complete the eight-stage Tour de France Femmes on Sunday.
Campbell, representing Australian-based Team Jayco Alula, finished the 22.6K stage eight in 51st position in 32 minutes and 16 seconds.
Campbell covered 959.9K over the past eight days and ended 99th overall.
She finished 125th in stage one, 136th in stage two, 102nd in stage three, 130th in stage four, 70th in stage five, 112th in stage six and 80th in stage seven.
Some of the stages had as many as 150 cyclists competing.
On Sunday, Campbell wrote on Facebook, 'Complaining a bit because I could barely sit on my saddle today (Sunday). My stomach needs a break from the carbs.'
Looking ahead to time off, she said, 'My bed is calling. Not completely broken, but moody…and the only thing I desperately NEED right now is FAMILY, indulging in some home cooked meal and talking smack while playing cards! But happy to finish and looking forward to the next edition! Please send me all the virtual Trini delicacies.'
