Police say they have charged John George, an employee of the Boys Training Centre (BTC), with Assault after complaints that a Ward at the institution had experienced multiple beatings. According to investigators, on September 10, 2021, the BTC management reported the Assault to the Gros Islet Police Station CID. Law enforcement officials disclosed that the report stemmed from an incident at the BTC where a Warden physically assaulted a Ward on multiple occasions.
