A mother in Alabama is upset after his son, Amonn Jackson, a 7-year-old black student, came home with a mark that looked like a bullet wound on his forehead.
“It looked so real in person, that it looked like something happened,” Zakiya Milhouse, Jackson’s mother, said.
According to Jackson’s mom, including the fake bullet wound in the lesson wasn’t appropriate.
While Zakiya initially filled out the permission forms the teacher sent to parents asking them to allow him to put makeup on the students, the bullet painting on his son’s forehead was too much.
The activity was aimed at teaching students different makeup techniques during the drama lesson.
