A bill in California is being considered that would extend some of the changes to the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act until Jan. 1, 2026, which allows remote meetings via teleconference without posting each official’s teleconference location; however, opponents believe it would lead to more government secrecy and turn state government boards and commissions into "faceless bureaucracies."
