[allAfrica] Over 1 billion people - approximately 15% of the world's population - are estimated to live with some form of disability. As this demographic grows owing to an increase in chronic health conditions and ageing populations, their risk of marginalization also increases within the largely ableist society we live in, which often fails to consider the unique needs of people living with disabilities.
