THE EDITOR: Please permit me space in your widely read newspaper to speak on an important issue.
I am a second-year undergraduate student at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus, and I am very glad and thankful that Minister Colm Imbert has rejected principal Copeland’s proposal for a fee increase.
My thanks also to the Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, who also rejected the proposed fee increase.
Principal Copeland clearly lacks vision and I am glad his reign over the St Augustine campus has come to an end. This is a victory for the students! Thank you, ministers.
