TWO men were killed in a police-involved shooting in Guayaguayare before dawn on August 1.
The deceased men were yet to be identified, and residents said they were not from the area.
The police said shortly after 2 am, officers from the Mayaro police station went to La Brea Village after receiving information. On reaching a wooden shed off a dirt track, the officers reportedly identified themselves but were shot at.
The officers returned fire, killing the two men.
The police found a shotgun near the bodies.
A district medical officer later viewed the bodies and ordered that they be removed pending autopsies.
Investigations are ongoing.
