Atlanta Hawks Forward Vince Carter announced Thursday he will be retiring from basketball after 22 seasons in the NBA.

Carter leaves the game behind with plenty of memorable moments including his incredible display of dunks in the 2000 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest, 8 time All-Star Select, and Elite play with the Toronto Raptor and Brooklyn Nets organizations.

The Atlanta Hawks finished 14th in the Eastern conference at 20-47 marking the end of their season, as the team wasn’t selected to participate in the continued season/playoffs in Orlando, Florida next month.

The Atlanta Hawks Organization released the following statement,:

Though Carter didn’t win a ring in his storied tenure in the NBA, he walks away impacting 8 different teams he was on, ushering the next generation of stars with his knowledge, and showing the world age was just a number.
