Following the publication issued by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on the 29th March, 2024, regarding the seizure of 536 kilogrammes or 1,181 pounds of cocaine, that occurred during a joint operation involving the GDF Coast Guard and CANU at Vergenoegen, Essequibo-Island West Demerara,  two Venezuelan males were apprehended in connection with the matter.
