Teross Young is Vice President, Government Relations for Delhaize America. In this role, Young leads all government affairs work for Delhaize’s U.S. banners, including Food Lion, Bottom Dollar Food, Hannaford, Sweetbay, Harvey’s and Reids. Young monitors, analyzes and communicates current and emerging public policy issues at the federal, state and local government levels that impact the operations, business performance, competitive position and business strategy of Delhaize America.
Young represents Delhaize America on a number of national and state-level retail and food industry associations. Among these, he is a former chair of the Food Marketing Institute’s government relations committee, serves on the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s government relations committee and is the current chair of the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association. Young also serves on the boards of directors of the Virginia Retail Merchants Association, Delaware Food Industry Council, Georgia Food Industry Council, Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, North Carolina Business Committee for Education and the Lion’s Share Credit Union.
Young holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a graduate of the Public Affairs Council.
