Rissi Palmer is a trailblazing country music artist known for her soulful voice, heartfelt songwriting, and commitment to increasing diversity within the genre. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Palmer was exposed to a variety of musical influences, including country, R&B, and gospel. Despite country music being a historically white-dominated genre, she gravitated toward it, inspired by artists like Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. From a young age, she knew she wanted to make a name for herself in country music, even though Black female artists had been largely underrepresented.
