NNPA NEWSWIRE — “Although I have received a few awards during my lifetime for various things, I tend not to think much about them. But when I was informed of my nomination for the NNPA Leadership Award, I must say that this award brought pause and thought to my daily routine,” reflected Retired Major Neill Franklin. “Knowing the long history of our Black Press and the important role it has played benefitting the Black community, I must say that I felt extremely honored. There’s no greater feeling than to be honored by your very own community, especially such an important institution within it.”
