A new report "Advancing Racial Equity: Shrinking Misdemeanor Prosecution in New York" from the Center for Court Innovation, shows that the vast majority of the nation's criminal cases are misdemeanors, and Black New Yorkers were disproportionately charged in 2019 and 2020.
