The Louisville Metro Police will begin the termination process of Detective Brett Hankison, one of three officers involved in the narcotics raid that led to the death of the 26-year-old EMT worker, as Blavity previously reported.
Louisville Police Chief Robert Schroeder wrote a letter to Hankison, saying the officer violated the department’s use of force policy by firing rounds "without supporting facts that your deadly force was directed at a person against whom posed an immediate threat of danger or serious injury to yourself or others," reports CBS.
"I find your conduct a shock to the conscience," Schroeder wrote.
"I am alarmed and stunned you used deadly force in this fashion."
