NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: I 'Encourage' a team to sign Colin Kaepernick

New York (BNC)– NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement Monday in support of former NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick being reinstated back into the NFL.

Before his release from the NFL, Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem, sparking outrage among the league , fans, players, coaches, and companies that support the NFL.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Goodell said this on Kaepernick being reinstated:

“Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it’s gonna take a team to make that decision,” Goodell said.

Earlier this month, Goodell released a video apologizing on behalf of the NFL for not doing a better job of listening to players’ concerns on racial inequality, but he was criticized for not mentioning Kaepernick by name.

One of the first steps of progress will be observed on the decided future of Kaepernick in the NFL by team owners, or the continued lack of interest of a team to sign Colin Kaepernick for reasons beyond the gridiron.
