Lors du 46ème Sommet des Chefs d'État et de Gouvernement de la Caraïbe, qui s'est tenu à Guyana le lundi 26 Février 2024, l'ambassadrice américaine auprès des Nations Unies, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a révélé que le Bénin, pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest, envisageait d'envoyer 2 000 soldats pour soutenir la Mission de Soutien à la Sécurité (MSS) en Haïti.
